Meanwhile, the Bonds watch had contained an error ever since it started at the beginning of the month. I had forgotten about Hank Aaron’s last couple of years being in the AL, so I erroneously equated Aaron’s figure on the HR vs. the league average list as also representing the NL record. Bonds tied Aaron for 2nd all time yesterday, but had already passed him for the NL record.
