Joe Buck on Twitter
Unsure whether or not Twitter has jumped the shark? Here’s your answer, courtesy of USA Today’s Micheal Hiestand:
On its Houston-St. Louis game Saturday, Fox’s baseball coverage debuted Twittering from its announcers. Fox’s Joe Buck, in a tweet, showed how the evolving online medium can deliver true candor: “Cold in the booth in STL. Tim (McCarver) and I are bundled up. And snuggling.”
Here’s a good rule of thumb for any aspiring baseball announcer: If you can’t picture Vin Scully doing it, don’t you freakin’ do it, OK?

Great. Now I have the image of Tim McCarver and Joe Buck canoodling in the booth. I think I just threw up in my mouth. Not that there’s anything wrong with that, of course.
I’m a Yankee fan and I have to suffer through Michael Kay on the YES Network. His latest in buffonery is to read his emails to the audience during the game. Idiot.
Watching the Mets/Padres game intro, where the announcers talked about the “final pitch” at Shea Stadium, with “the pitcher, Tom Seaver and the catcher, Mike Piazza.”
Never knew that about Tom.
