Andruw Jones’ batted balls
John Beamer has posted a nice article about Andruw Jones today, including some insightful monthly trends. It will be interesting to see if Andruw does command a big contract this offseason.
As a follow up, perhaps some of you would like to take a look at Jones’ batted ball profile. I described the batted ball profile format a couple of weeks ago, but space allowed me to only run it for a few players. Well, here’s Andruw’s profile:

As expected, Andruw has lost a lot of oomph on his outfield flies (despite hitting more of them), but his line drive production has also declined; in fact, it’s declined each of the past four years. Add in lower production on his groundballs and more strikeouts, and you pretty much have a quadruple whammy.
