In the Wall Street Journal
The Hardball Times makes a small appearance in this excellent article (sorry, subscription required) on the Wall Street Journal’s website this weekend. The article talks about Vince Gennaro’s new Diamond Dollars book (which has been highlighted here in the past) and includes excellent insights from baseball insiders.
My favorite quote is at the end of the article:
“I don’t know how you can say we’re going to get this many wins because of this player,” says Aaron Rowand, the center fielder for the Philadelphia Phillies. If statisticians can, says Mr. Rowand, “more power to them.”
Come on by THT and Baseball Prospectus anytime, Aaron.
Dave Studeman was called a "national treasure" by Rob Neyer. Seriously. Follow his sporadic tweets @dastudes.
Chinese consumers like He, who want to make statements when they go shopping, are turning more to Western sports brands.
The Nike PG 1 “Summer Pack” dropped earlier today, and next week will bring the Nike PG 1 Hyper Turquoise, a pair that definitely reminds us a whole lot of the atmos aesthetic that was resurrected on the atmos x Nike Air Max 1 “Elephant Print” retro recently.
