A cool effort by Rays Index to measure fan confidence in the Rays’ season and future. Apparently Rays fans like their chances of finishing .500 but aren’t as optimistic about a shot at the playoffs.

Remember that statistical study last summer that found evidence that major umpires are at least somewhat racially biased when calling balls and strikes? If you’re like me, the math was too much to digest. Luckily, Phil Birnbaum hasn’t continued to investigate the study and his latest post on the subject finds much less conclusive evidence.
