3) The A’s activated SS Bobby Crosby from the DL and sent INF Keith Ginter to the minors.

After a -15 RCAA/.744 OPS season, Crosby is off to a 2 for 7, with a 2B, start in his first 2 games. He has a .731 career OPS, compared to his league average of .772, and -17 RCAA in 164 games.

4) The Whitesox picked up manager Ozzie Guillen’s option for 2006, gave him a contract extension for 2007-08 and an option for 2009.

5) The Royals fired hitting coach Jeff Pentland.

6) The Dodgers sent C Dioner Navarro to the minors, called up C Mike Rose and designated minor league P Buddy Carlyle for assignment.

Navarro still hasn’t made his major league debut.

Rose was 0 for 2 in 2 games with the 2004 A’s.

Carlyle has a 7.41 ERA/-20 RSAA in 21 career games, including a 8.36 ERA/-7 RSAA in 10 games in 2005, which is his first time in the majors since 2000.

7) The Rockies called up P Matt Anderson and placed P Jose Acevedo on the 15 day DL.

After pitching in just 35 games in 2003-03, Anderson missed 2004 and made his 2005 debut yesterday. He has a 4.95 career ERA, compared to his league average of 4.71, and -9 RSAA in 246. His only positive RSAA came as a rookie with the 1998 Tigers.

Acevedo has a strained right groin. After a 5.94 ERA/-34 RSAA in his first full season, Acevedo is off to a 4.50 ERA/1 RSAA start in his first 15 games. He has a 5.53 ERA/-47 RSAA in 83 career games.

8) The Nationals activated 1B Wil Cordero and P John Patterson from the DL and sent INF Brendan Harris and OF Tyrell Godwin to the minors.

After -7 RCAA/.803 OPS and -5 RCAA/.538 OPS seasons, Cordero is 0 for 4, with -1 RCAA, in his first 3 games. He has a .762 career OPS, compared to his league average of .770, and -42 RCAA in 1221 games.
