Call for Submissions: The Hardball Times Annual Fiction Section

Last year, for the first time, The Hardball Times Annual featured a Fiction section. The stories we were able to publish were excellent and we enjoyed the response. So we’ve decided to do it again, with Jason Linden and Amy Ryan returning as the section’s primary editors.

If you have a work of fiction that is in anyway baseball related (you really do have wide latitude), please send it to fiction@fangraphs.com by November 15. It should be 5,000 words or fewer, and submitted either as a Word document or copy and pasted into the body of your email. And it’s okay to be off the wall. Honestly, we might prefer something off the wall if it’s well written.

We’d like to have a well-rounded section that reflects the diversity of our readership, with as many different viewpoints and approaches as we can get, and encourage submissions from writers of all backgrounds.

We look forward to reading your submissions! So send us what you’ve got and expect to hear back before the end of the year!
