Two good posts on Mike Pelfrey today. Pelfrey has had several outstanding starts lately. Obviously, it would be a major boost to the Mets’ chances if he’s turned the corner on his budding major league career. Peter Bendix isn’t sure the improvement is real, however, noting that his recent starts have come against relatively weak […]
I love Paul DePodesta’s blog. The fact that a major league exec is willing to be so open with his fans is tremendous. Still, I can’t help thinking that he’s missing an opportunity with Brian Giles. The concept of “selling high” doesn’t seem to be on his mind.
You can read Craig’s running commentary of the All-Star game right here. Almost as good as watching the game itself; I particularly like the picture of the whatchamacallit from the Neverending Story.

The Transaction Guy takes a PITCHf/x look at Rich Harden’s first start as a Cub, confirming the notion that he’s become a two-pitch, fastball/changeup pitcher.
Aaron has penned his usual assortment of insightful notes about the Twins. Aaron is better than I am at remembering ridiculous things announcers say. It seems like every time I listen to a ballgame, the announcer will say something that makes me shake my head and think “I should write about that.” Then I always […]
Bill James joins Eric and Pizza Cutter for a baseball roundtable at Statistically Speaking.
