Things to read as you sit at home, overestimating your value and your bargaining power:

Steve Treder writes about a league that existed once upon a time called the Sunset League. Goes to show you that you can poke your nose around this game for years and still find stuff you’ve never, ever heard of.

Josh Kalk talks about pitchers and “the injury zone.” Turns out he’s referring to pitch counts and fatigue and stuff. I had thought he had meant an invisible ten foot radius that surrounds Mike Hampton at all times.

Jeff Sackmann talks Division 2 baseball, wondering how good it truly is. No, you still weren’t good enough to play it, I don’t care how good your backyard knuckleball was.

Finally, over at Fantasy Focus, Paul Singman hooks Carlos Lee up to the Consistency Meter. Lee is a shy type, easy to spook, so it was hard to lure him over to the machine in the first place. Later, however, Singman convinced him that it was a food dispenser of some sort.

Note to Odalis Perez: those who forget history are doomed to repeat it.
