3) Giants P Dustin Hermanson was suspended for 3 games for hitting Jeff Kent with a pitch on September 23. He’s appealing.

After 7.77 ERA/-8 RSAA and 4.06 ERA/1 RSAA seasons, Hermanson has a 4.37 ERA/1 RSAA in 43 games (18 starts). He has a 4.29 career ERA, compared to his league average of 4.39, and 10 RSAA in 290 games.

4) Yankees P Brad Halsey and Redsox P Pedro Astacio were both suspended for 3 games, for throwing at batters on Sunday. They are both appealing.

Halsey has a 7.33 ERA/-9 RSAA in his first 6 career starts (7 games).

After pitching in just 7 games in 2003, Astacio has a 11.57 ERA/-3 RSAA in 4 games. He has a 4.60 career ERA, compared to his league average of 4.26, and 8 RSAA in 350 games.

5) Braves P Jaret Wright had to leave yesterday’s game, after being hit in the ankle by a line drive, and is day to day.

After 15.71 ERA/-23 RSAA and 7.35 ERA/-21 RSAA seasons, Wright has a 3.28 ERA/22 RSAA in 32 starts. He has a 5.09 career ERA, compared to his league average of 4.58, and -44 RSAA in 180 games.

6) Tigers C Ivan Rodriguez had to leave yesterday’s game, due to a tight right hamstring, and is day to day.

7) Yankees P Orlando Hernandez was going to be scratched from yesterday’s start, before the game was rained out. He may be able to start tomorrow.

8) Mets P Mike Stanton set the team record for games in a season.
