Our man on the scene reports from Cambridge.

Lost in Transactions returns after a month-long hiatus—and a significant week.

Rickie Weeks dealt a blow to the Milwaukee Brewers with a season-ending injury, but will Mat Gamel soften that blow? Both Florida teams gave up on a top starter while the Brewers and Padres swung a trade.

This week saw Carlos Delgado go on the disabled list with a chronic hip injury, threatening the Mets’ first base hopes for the remainder of the year. The Marlins demoted slumping outfielder Cameron Maybin, the Red Sox made a curious move, and D-Train returned.

Well, that was an interesting week. Manny Ramirez was suspended, the Orioles and Cubs made a trade and two teams called up players integral to their future. The Yankees lost their catching tandem while the Athletics made a ton of roster shuffles. Enough with it, let’s dive in.

This week in Lost in Transactions, several teams underwent significant shuffling. The Oakland Athetics and Cleveland Indians made some wholesale changes, while the Red Sox welcomed back Julio Lugo.

In this week’s edition of Lost in Transactions, we applaud the Mets for picking up Wily Mo Pena. The Brewers look to turn fortunes around with Trevor Hoffman returning and Andrew Miller hit the DL for the Marlins.

After a hiatus, Lost in Transactions is back. This week had plenty of changes, from demotions to trades to injuries. Lastings Milledge and Blake DeWitt were (justifiably?) demoted to Triple-A while hot Rangers prospect Derek Holland landed in the bigs.

The Sox have added depth their team in hopes it can get them a third ring… but they need Josh Beckett, David Ortiz and others to get them there. Can they?

Those poor Orioles. They didn’t know what the Curse of Jeffrey Maier was going to bring them. But lo! Hope arrives on the horizon.
